Tips for Good Mud Engineer

Suggested Rig Supplies for Mud Engineers 1. Tape measure for pit volume calculations – 25’ – 8 meter minimum. 2. Crescent (adjustable) wrenches – 6” and 10” – 12” a good idea too 3. 8” or 10” pipe wrench for mud checking equipment repair. 4. Allen (hex) wrenches 5. Hammer 6. Pliers – regular and needle nose 7. Screw drivers – Phillips and flat head 8. Electrical tape 9. Duct tape 10. Vise grips The following are suggested for extra mud checking equipment but should be cleared by manager in advance. 1. Two sets of o-rings for API fluid loss 2. 5-10 extra small and 2-3 extra large o-rings for HTHP – double this amount if you are using invert mud 3. 1 extra set of glassware, i.e., pipettes, beakers, and graduated cylinders. If you have a 10 cc retort, have at least 3 each 10 cc graduated cylinders as you will use two for most mud checks – one for the API fluid loss and one for the retort. 4.
